The level of molten and liquefied glass in the furnace is measured with a high-precision laser distance sensor.

Even in the harsh measurement environment of ultra-high temperature molten liquid at 1500°C, it is possible to achieve a measurement error of ±1mm by placing the laser distance sensor at a distance.

Our company does not handle dedicated sensors for specific applications and has only dealt with laser distance measuring sensors. To date, we have been involved in various fields such as civil engineering (measuring internal displacement in tunnels), steel and heavy industries (cranes, boring machines, etc.), woodworking and metal processing machines, monitoring, automated warehouses, and manufacturing process lines. We have received numerous requests asking, "Can sensors be used for this application?" and have worked together with customers to devise solutions, successfully measuring in many applications. Here, I would like to introduce one specific example. This is a measurement method to maintain a constant level of molten and liquefied glass inside a furnace. The level of the molten material in the furnace must not exceed a specified level, and the lower limit must be maintained at a stable level of -15 mm. Even in the harsh measurement environment of ultra-high temperature molten material at 1500°C, by placing the laser distance sensor at a distance, we achieved a measurement error of ±1 mm, and the measurement position could be visually confirmed using visible red laser light, enabling level measurement inside the glass melting furnace.

High-precision laser distance sensor specified with a sensor accuracy of ±1mm.

The accuracy is specified at 2σ (±1mm), which indicates that 95.4% of the measurement results fall within the specification range, even when measuring a distance of 100 meters.

To explain specifically: - Stochastic error (probabilistic error) arises from noise from components, the environment, or space. - Temperature error is dependent on the temperature of the components and materials used. - Color shift error is caused by differences in the characteristics of the measurement surface (black or white, and also reflectivity). Dimetix places importance on providing high-precision and accurate products as a trusted service to users, and we indicate the quality of our products at 2σ to ensure customers recognize it. 【Features】 ■ High-speed measurement achieving 250Hz ■ 100m measurement (500m when using a dedicated reflector) ■ Compact and lightweight at 350g (140x78x48mm) ■ Operating temperature range -40℃ to +60℃ ■ Compatible with various interfaces (RS232C/RS422/PROFINET/EtherNet/EtherCAT) ■ Compliant with IP65
